1. The Player-Driven Economy

Unlike traditional MMORPGs with NPC vendors selling end-game gear, almost every piece of equipment, mount, weapon, and potion in Albion Online is gathered, refined, and crafted by players. Prices are governed strictly by local supply and demand across isolated city marketplaces.

2. Market Orders vs Instant Transactions

At any city marketplace, you have two methods of buying and selling:

3. Taxes & Marketplace Fees

Fee Type Premium Account Non-Premium Account
Setup Fee (when creating any order) 2.5% 2.5%
Sales Tax (upon order completion) 4.0% 8.0%
Total Effective Friction 6.5% 10.5%

4. Biomes & Resource Distribution

Each of the 5 biomes on the Royal Continent produces three distinct raw resources:

Biome Surrounding City Abundant (Primary) Secondary Tertiary

5. The 3 Golden Rules of Silver

  1. Never craft on personal islands: Player islands offer 0% return rate. Always craft in city stations.
  2. Always use buy orders: Placing buy orders for raw materials in high volume cuts raw input expenses significantly.
  3. Calculate before producing: Never craft blindly. Use the AlbionCalc Crafting Calculator to verify net margins before purchasing materials.
